Natural Home Remedies for Hair Loss That Are Simple and Effective

Beautiful lustrous hair is the most cherished dream for everybody, severe loss of which affects the self esteem of an individual in significant amounts. For women, hair is an integral part of the beauty and a matter of pride whereas in men, the macho image is largely dependent on the well grown mane. Hair loss is totally a cosmetic concern as it is not an essential functioning organ of the body. Still this concern is enough to evoke lots of tensions and anxieties in people to drive them crazy.

Hair is constituted of dead cell layers called keratin. A number of hair follicles are present in the scalp, and papilla is a soft up growth of the follicles. A group of cells of papilla produces a special type of protein called keratin, which needs to be hydrated and nourished for the healthy growth of hair.

Hair loss can be indicated by -

1. Entangled clusters of hair coming out in huge volumes after combing or brushing.
2. Falling of hair in huge amounts after bathing.

Hair loss may be the outcome of the following factors -

1. Under nourished body
2. Prolonged suffering from serious or chronic illness.
3. Unclean scalp
4. Use of certain drugs and medicines.
5. Emotional stress

Home Remedies

Home remedies have produced excellent results in treating hair loss since ages and still these methods are widely practiced to improve the health of the hair.

1. Gently massage an egg yolk on the scalp. Keep it for half an hour and wash it off. This will add shine to the hair and reduce hair loss.

2. Application of a pack of henna leaves, basil leaves, powdered Indian goose berry with two teaspoonful of lime juice enhances the hair growth and imparts a sheen black color to it.

3. Regular massaging the scalp with almond oil enhances the blood circulation in the follicles leading to hair growth.

4. Application of coconut oil or coconut milk helps in treating this problem.

5. Make a decoction of rosemary leaves in water and store it. Apply this decoction daily to rinse the hair.

6. Apply a mixture of two teaspoonfuls each of rosemary and olive oil, juice of one lemon and one egg yolk on the hair roots. Wash it off after half an hour.

7. Boil few pieces of Indian gooseberry in half cup of coconut oil. Let it cool down and apply the mixture on the scalp. This is highly effective in reducing hair loss.

8. Put some blanched and scented Geranium leaves in boiling water. Strain it after it cools down and wash the hair with it. This is a very good remedy for treating hair loss.
